Solana Priority Fee Calculator | Estimate Transaction Costs
Introduction
Calculate exactly how much you'll pay in priority fees before broadcasting your Solana transaction. Enter your compute unit price in microlamports and your estimated compute unit limit to get an instant fee estimate in both lamports and USD.
Formula
Priority Fee = ceil(CU_price × CU_limit / 1,000,000) lamports. For example, at 50,000 microlamports with 200,000 CU limit: 50,000 × 200,000 / 1,000,000 = 10,000 lamports = 0.00001 SOL. Total cost including base fee: 0.000015 SOL.
Priority Levels
Minimum: 1st percentile for non-urgent transactions. Low: 25th percentile for standard operations. Medium: 50th percentile recommended for most use cases. High: 75th percentile for time-sensitive operations. Very High: 95th percentile for critical operations and MEV strategies.
The Solana priority fee formula is:
Priority Fee = ceil(CU_price × CU_limit / 1,000,000) lamports
Where:
- CU_price = microlamports per compute unit (your bid)
- CU_limit = maximum compute units for the transaction
- 1,000,000 = precision multiplier
A typical transfer uses ~200,000 CU. A complex DeFi swap may use 400,000–600,000 CU. Always set your CU limit slightly above your expected usage to avoid transaction failure.
